What is Scotland’s Property Guide?

Scotland’s Property Guide combines for sale, rental and commercial properties from agents in Scotland into one Portal. The site currently lists properties from 56 branches with a growing list, meaning the most comprehensive list of Scotland specific properties is available for the end user to view.

What is Property Hive’s involvement?

Property Hive helped form the foundations of the property search side of the website, from the importing of properties to the filtering and displaying of them on the front end.

Which addons did we use?

Property Import Add On – This allows SPG to perform automatic property imports from the various CRMs including Vebra Alto, ExpertAgent, 10ninety, Street, Acquaint and Reapit.  At the time of writing this, there are 40 agent imports running on the site.

Property Portal Add On – This component enables them to assign properties to an agent and for the correct agent details to be displayed on the front end.

Property Shortlist – This allows the user to create a shortlist that they are able to add or remove properties from.

Home Report Upload – In Scotland it’s a legal requirement to have a Home Report completed for prospective buyers to view. Our add on supports this requirement by allowing agents to add the Home Report to the property listing and makes it available to view and download by the user.

Why was Property Hive chosen for this project?

• All of our front end components are fully customisable meaning the property layouts could be made to look like the designs.

How did Property Hive help?

Property Hive was used as the foundation for powering the property related functionality across the site; from the recent properties shown on the homepage, to the search results and ability to filter properties, to the property details page.

Automatic property imports from Loop Software

Aside from the frontend functionality that comes with our WordPress plugin, one of the main reasons for choosing Property Hive was our ability to automatically import properties from Seccombes chosen CRM, Loop Software.

Using our Property Import add on the client can manage their properties within their Loop CRM account, then have these updates automatically appear on the website, therefore saving them time and ensuring accuracy.

Julian at Spot Blue approached us back in January 2021 when looking to revamp their existing website and CRM, and we were instantly excited to be involved in the project after hearing some of their ideas, and knowing that they would contribute to the development of our existing support for international properties.

Prior to Property Hive, Spot Blue were using a custom CRM which had been built specifically for them. Of course bespoke software has it’s limitations so they were keen to migrate their existing data across to WordPress and Property Hive, which we achieved by importing BLM feeds using our Property Import add on.

They also changed over to using Property Hive to power their feeds to the property portals such as Rightmove and Zoopla. This resulted in them moving away from slow BLM feeds, to real-time feeds, meaning their properties are updated instantly on the respective portal.

Moving onto the website itself, Sussex SEO who have managed the build of the website, have really done an amazing job of not only making the site look great, but also being fully functional.

With Property Hive templates being fully customisable they’ve achieved the desired layout of the search results and details pages. By using shortcodes they have output select properties on the homepage and the individual country pages. And our in-built international support has allowed them to output prices in different currencies, as well as to add a currency conversion tool.

They really have pushed the limits of Property Hive’s support for overseas properties, and it’s been a pleasure to work on new functionality with them which will ultimately benefit everyone who uses Property Hive.

Since the 80s, they have been trying to stay ahead of the competition in the property industry.
