Today sees us output a small release, but one that paves the way for some extra cool functionality in the forthcoming weeks; our upcoming Reports module.
Update: Our new reports module is now available.
With this latest version of Property Hive, we’ve began to track the number of views that each property gets. Each time a visitor to your WordPress estate agency website clicks to view the full details of a property we now record that interaction. Not only do we record the total number of views, we timestamp them so we can tell exactly how many views have been received on a day-by-day basis.
Now, you won’t see any frontend changes as of yet, and these statistics won’t be displayed anywhere. This release is to ensure that when the upcoming Reports module is finished, that we already have as much data available at our fingertips. Reports with no data aren’t very useful now are they?
Won’t This Slow Down My Website?
Not at all. We’ve tested this with two years worth of stats and there was no noticeable speed difference at all.
How Will These Statistics Be Used?
The property view stats that we’re now tracking allow us do so many brilliant things. Some examples of which are:
– You’ll be able to see in WordPress how many views each property has had today, yesterday, this week, and this month, and more. As well as this, you’ll be able to see if these counts are an increase or decrease on the same previous time period.
– You’ll be able to see which are your most popular properties, and which are your least popular propertis. This might enable you to make the less popular properties featured for the week as an example.
– We’ll be able to start generating property performance reports that can be given to the property owners and landlords
– If you use property software such as Jupix, Expert Agent, Vebra or similar, we’ll be able to feed these statistics back into your software, permitting they have the capability to receive them.
We’re so excited to be working on this upcoming functionality. What was important for us is that we start recording this information as soon as possible which we now do. This sets up free to start working on this new functionality.
We’ll announce when this progresses so watch this space or join up to our mailing list in the footer of our website to get notified.
