We recently published an article about using Property Hive to manage your commercial properties. Kato is a CRM that specialises in commercial properties and we’ve been offering support for the Kato XML (formerly Agentsinsight) since 2020. We’re pleased to announce that we’ve now extended this support to include the Kato API.
That means that you can now save time by automatically importing your properties using the Kato API to WordPress using our market leading Property Import feature, removing the need for manual data entry.
Why use Kato API?
Using an API comes with added security when importing your data. XML files are accessed via url meaning that although it’s unlikely, technically, anyone can access your files. API however is encrypted and requires authentication meaning that your data is guaranteed to be safe.
The API also comes with the benefit of more fields allowing you to import and display more information.
Finally, you can expect the API to be better supported and include property updates sooner ensuring your website is always up to date.
How to import properties using Kato API
1. Obtain your API keys
You’ll need API keys (client id and client secret) to authenticate with the Kato API and set up your feed. If you don’t have the keys or are unsure, you can obtain your keys from Kato.
2. Install Property Hive
Install the free core Property Hive plugin through WordPress:

4. Activate the Property Import Feature
Activate the ‘Property Import’ pro feature on the features dashboard in Property Hive:
5. Setup the Import
Use the setup wizard to create an import, entering your API keys obtained in step one.
And that’s it! It couldn’t be simpler to set up an import from Kato to WordPress with the leading property import tool.
